French Countryside inspires my bedroom...

Here is a view of my handsome anitque bed with the oyster shell mirror and vanity. One of the things that I love about my bedroom are my vintage jewelry and handbags. The balance is the bed. I love to keep things feminine but also have strong furniture pieces that tie it all together.

The oyster shell mirror I actually made with the help of my cousin Jennifer...spoiler!!! ;) soon to come tutorial!
These are some beautiful vintage pieces I have inherited or "scavenged" from some wonderful antique or thrift shops over the years. You will NEVER beleive what you will find if you have the patience to look. I have taught all of my girls that.
Beleive it or not... I actually use all of these handbags. I love them as accesories in fashion as well as decorating. I'm not afraid of showing them off either way.

Ok...What is French Country side? If you notice my curtains (I made them!), they are made of what is called Toile fabrics. This is traditional French pattern that was introduced in the Baroque period of French history by Marie Antionette after she spent time in a small country town. You see this element in so many styles of decorating. The bed is French and I refinished it to fit with the Baroque period. Of course, I have to put my own Charleston swing on things, there inlies the Oyster Shell mirror. It is not French Countryside but it is decadent and over the top just like they would have liked if they had thought of it!
