French Guest Bathroom

French Country Bathroom

It has been a wonderful summer out in the boat and everyone has been wondering why there have not been any posts.. taking the time to paint and sew when the water is calling my name is very hard!  So.... I have finally finished the guest bath that is connected to the guest bedroom. I originally wanted to wall paper but the mahogany chest I want to add to my boat was more important! ha ha ! So I painted the bathroom by mixing paint I already had. The next picture shows the color contrast but works well together.

The ceiling in this bathroom is ten feet tall. Trying to capture the picture of the curtain that is nine feet in a small bathroom is hard so I have tried to give you the details.

The shower curtain is a curtain from Ikea and I have added the beautiful French trim and toile fabric to the bottom for accent. The plastic shower curtain in back not pictured is two shower curtains sewed together to get the nine feet I needed to reach the ceiling to keep it hidden.( Thanks to my friend Betty for this wonderful idea!)

The Pictures are not French but Italian, ok small thing but they are a nice addition.

Putting in the small details like a hand embroidered towel and a beautiful soap.

The octagon sink is a wonderful touch along with the French fixtures that have glass knobs. the small touches of linens and antique brush set are just small things to bring it together.

This picture makes me smile every time I look at it. The compacts are a collection I started back in my cosmetic days. ( Cheers to all the beautiful, wonderful friends from those days, we always had fun!) The bird is from an old coo coo clock of mine, I just painted it.

I always line my drawers with fabric, I used vintage fabric that was on hand. The pull knobs are always a part of my decorating because they always make such a big impact for and are such an easy thing to do.

As always I love when you stop in. Please join me again soon when I have Halloween early!!
