Welcome to The New Bleu....

The New Bleu.. is how we'd like to showcase the beautiful one of kind pieces that we have used to make our homes our unique and yet still homey abodes.

First we bring you Dan's Office. Well you might ask, who is this "Dan?" Dan is the father of Yaya's and Papu's grandchildren, the son to Lulu and Pistol Pete, and last but certainly not least husband to Cassie. Obviously, he deserves a fantastic man cave/home office.

Grab a drink...

When considering designing a room, you have to establish it's purpose, then you must customize it to the person who will occupy it most. Dan has had a long time career in basket ball... let's face it, it's more than a hobby... He spends his time coaching local high schoolers, playing on recreational teams, and grooming the next generation's NBA stars (you know who you are.)

So when putting together the theme of his office, we used his life time's collection of basketball and sports memorabilia.

When you get a collection of plaques or photos, you want keep them in a grouping. Notice the right hand wall of the room, these are his coaching awards from over the years.

To give contrast and dimension, pictures are used as a backdrop with collective pieces to the front. Consider the "rule of 3" or "odd number." An artist might describe this as composition.

As we mentioned earlier, not only is this a "man cave" but also a place of business.  When we did these chairs, they were made of simple rattan. We painted them black to enhance the rooms masculine atmosphere while still giving it the feel of a true office.

You might wonder.... what the heck is in that bowl. Well Dan may have collected a few basket ball nets from his time as a 1998-1999 Big South Champion at Winthrop College.

This is just the beginning of what we are excited to bring you in the new series The New Bleu
